I went on a west coast vacation this summer and found myself in the audience for The Price is Right. Although you could barely see me, it was fun to watch that episode air this morning. It's been a long time since I've updated you... so, what's been going on?

Rough Crossing closed last weekend, and the Robber Bridegroom opened last night here in Naples, NY. With one more week of performances, there's only a few more chances to catch the show before it comes down and I head back to New York again. Plus, come back soon to check out the spiffy-ization of the website... making some adjustments, adding some more pictures, and also ... oooo! ... sounds and videos!

Freedom Train closed last week and now I'm auditioning, trying to fill in the rest of my year with work around the already-scheduled upcoming stuff. You can already get your tickets online for all three of my next shows.

Chris, on his first Equity contract, will join the already-touring cast of TheatreWorks/USA's production of Freedom Train this week on the road and continue with them across the northeast through mid-May.

Long time no see ... but I've been steadily auditioning, and now have some exciting things to report! I'm currently finalizing plans for a five-week summerstock gig somewhere close to home (details soon!)... and heading out over the next couple of weeks to some exciting callbacks (including the second round of a national tour, and some exciting regional theatres).
Also, I filmed my scenes this morning in my first movie, 1 Hit Wonder. I play William, the scissor-stealing colorist at an upper East Side salon. Ooo!

Performances continue through the holidays and until January 27, 2008. Rehearsals begin just following Turkey Day, and I'll be working with some great people, including Michael Leeds (director of Broadway's Swinging on a Star) and Peggy Gordon (Godspell).

Chris is now a two-time ArtVoice ARTIE nominee, this year for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his work as Jimmy in Alleyway's Reefer Madness. In 2005, he was nominated in the same category for his portrayal of John Wilkes Booth in the Dramatis Personae's production of Assassins.
Reefer Madness received nine nominations in all, including one for Outstanding Production of a Musical. Alleyway's production of Unholy Trinity also nabbed a nom for Outstanding Ensemble of a Musical. The complete nomination list was published in ArtVoice on May 24.

Chris received his first mention in The New York Times on Friday (May 11), along with this great photo. Sure, it was below the fold ... but who's counting?"

Chris J. Handley (who ably switches from disaffected football player to impassioned cafeteria lunch lady) ... seem[s] to have as much fun as the audience." —Laurel Graber
